B'lanna. Kes was a bit too submissive and laid back for Tom. Well, Kes was too submissive---period! They made her a very weak character which is why Jennifer Lein quit.
For the long term, B'Elanna. She was über feisty, giving her a much better chance than Kes of keeping him interested. Tom was a player before B'Elanna. He genuinely liked Kes, but I think he would've become bored with her after a while.
Definately B'lanna! I never thought of Tom and Kes as a good match. I always loved the volitility of the Paris/Torres relationship. It was dynamic and contantly interesting to me. Besides, Tom likes a challenge.
They are starting to learn....check out comic con. The fans fuel the business, if it wasn't for fans there wouldn't be anyone to watch the commercials that sponser the programs. Then again if you are like me and have a DVR, I record first then watch...I always watch later, or at least wait 15 to 20 mins into a progam just so I can fast forward through the commercials.
as for not listening to Gene, that is just dumb. he was a man ahead of his time. Besides day time soaps nothing has stood the test of time like start trek!!
all a matter of personal taste..;-) good thing too..imagine if every man on the planet liked the same woman!..chaos would insue!.
yes she did return...and with a vengence!! but she did leave herself a message, reminding herself that her leaveing was her own personal choice, and not the vault of the crew. she had left worried that she had spent a good 1/3 of her life on Voyager, and maybe there was more out there.
It was cool episode. She had become insanely powerful.....
am I the only one that remembers Torres doing orbital shydiving, and re-inacting war scenes from her past with the safety protocols off...she is into some of the more dangerous stuff herself...a bit of a loose cannon herself wild just like Paris is loving excitement and thrills. Heck I would have figured if anyone could have slowed him down a little it would have been Kes.
Torres did that because she was going through 'guilt survival' when she learned the maquis had been wiped out. And, remember, SHE WAS HALF KLINGON! I would imagine being any part Klingon woman would be like a human woman in perpetual PMS!!!
Actually, think about it though, it was Tom who calmed B'Elanna down.
But does anyone remember the episode when Kes was taken over by that male entity?
I thought she did a great part there.
Again, the writers just didn't give her too many great opportunities. Maybe the writer who did her part liked wimpy, submissive women? LOL!
she was having survivors guilt.. absolutley what I am getting at...she is easily ready to blow her stack...a Klingon personality trait..lol.
maybe the writer did like his women submissive..lol, what ever the reasons..they really lost a character that had alot of potential. I guess I just really had a soft spot for hers..she was just generally good natured and kind without asking anything in return, even after the hard life she had before she met the V-crew, she wasn't really demanding , or even wanting sympathy ..she just took it all in stride..if anything she was very giving. i liked that about her. .
Though I liked Kes, I was glad that Tom ended up with B'Elanna. Though, that episode set in a possible future where Tom & Kes were married is 1 of my faves. Can any1 tell me how it is an Ocampa gets pregnant & gives birth out of her back?
If you look back Tom paris was in a next gen at the academy. and as for Sisco, great actor great captain. I have a fav, Picard .. I'm an original. I've also drawn and met most of them, including mrs. roddenbury. Well, if you'd like friend, add me.
