Star Trek: The Motion Picture. I hated that movie so much. The entire movie is basically a really, really long pan-over sequence. All of the other movies were at least moderately entertaining, but the first film was terrible, in my opinion. And that whole sequence with them forming a wormhole by going to warp in the trail of a meteor or whatever, what the heck was that?
It was the antimatter embalence in the warp drive that created the wormhole when the enterprise went onto warp,an asteriod was sucked into the wormhole.STTFF was the worst of all the ST movies.
I'm not a fan of Generations. They really mangled, well, pretty much everything in that movie.
Has to be Star Trek 5. Hands down. Two reasons:

1) The Row Row Row Your Boat sequence.
2) The marshmallow dispenser.

The prosecution rests.
Aw, I loved row row row your boat! And Spock's "marsh mellons"! The only thing I really didn't like about 5 was the young!Sarek/Spock's birth bit.

Those are the two best parts of the movie!

I would say the on-line movie {as much of it as i have seen} star trek of gods and men, i watched the first part and was already lost!
I don't care much for the Director's Edition of TMP. I liked the extened VHS version way better.
To me, they took out some of the more hilarous scenes from it, one being where Sulu tripped up showing Ilia how the Navigation console works, and, I don't know why, I like the older Klaxon a bit better. Other than that, since I recently watched the newer version, that's mostly why I prefer the VHS version...
ST:V is the absolute worst. (TMP probably falls under the most boring of the films. ) Actually, the first ten minutes or so seemed promising. It seems that Shatner spent his entire budget on that opening sequence alone. I love the opening music as Kirk Climbs 'El Capitan' (I love Goldsmith's music in that scene.) then...ugg. I've read a number of stories on the production, from Shatner's budget woes, to the disaster that was the effects house they employed. ( One positive came from all people: Nichelle Nichols. She actually praised his directing ability as he was very giving and sensitive to the actors...something she did not accuse him of as a cast mate.)
Flawed premise, flawed direction and flawed everything. Shatner's "favored nations" clause in his contract allowed him to direct because Nimoy did, and it's painfully obvious he was out of his depth. I'd be interested to see the fan made re-edit just to see if it's remotely salvageable. Finally, Scotty bumping his head? I would have laughed it was part of a gag reel...but really? If you watch it as kind of a big budget 'Ed Wood' film, then it's much more satisfying!
As derivative and flawed as Nemesis was, I'd watch that in a hot minute over 'V'...at least it's pretending to be TWOK.
I have to agree with Forsythe. There have been several lows in the Star Trek series of motion pictures, but ST V was the absolute worst. It was so bad, that I've read that Roddenberry considered virtually the entire film non-canon.
I've heard him interpret ST:V as a dream Kirk had, while he was sleeping on their camping trip. Which is kinda how I interpreted it from the start .
