...before you see it in the cinema?

I personally am starting to think it might be preferable to know as little as possible, in advance.

What do you think?

It really doesn't matter to me one way or the other.

Aye not to me either. But I did recently see a movie at the cinema, having discovered little to nothing about it previously except that it looked interesting. And it was a marvellous experience. I would love to see a Star Trek movie on this basis too.

I remember when Phantom Menace came out the soundtrack was released about a month before the movie.I bought it to get in the mood. The trailers were great. They showed a lot of stuff without giving away much about what the plot actually was  so I didn't see the harm in owning the music, getting psyched up!Then right there in the song titles...Qui-Gon's Funeral!Talk about a buzzkill!
As much as possible. Even a book based on the story before the story actually airs in theaters would be nice. Back stories are so cool.
Wouldn't you rather be at least a little surprised?
Walter Koenig even hinted on Shatner's Raw nerve show that he may even want to star in the next movie ( or any series for that matter..... anything really he mentioned that he really wanted to get back to work acting ...... ) since his Character never really developed in the original Star Trek. There should be a movie involving him at some point.
There's an episode of Star Trek Phase 2 where a delayed effect from Chekov's long-ago exposure to the virus in the Deadly Years finally manifested, making young Chekov old,a plot device they used to get Walter Koenig to play his old role.It is very well done and I don't see why they couldn't do something similar in the next movie.

Fan Feature: Camille & Kennerly (aka the Harp Twins) Sound Off Beautifully On Their Music & Their Love of Star Trek

Not too long back, I had the good fortune of stumbling across a post involving what I was told were 'the Harp Twins,' a couple of lovely young ladies with a lifelong interest in -- of all things -- the harp.  The post kindly directed me toward their YouTube Channel, as well as their Facebook page; and I -- like many others with…See More
