Does anyone have any idea about Spock's half-brother Sybok? Was he even born in the new time line? Everyone else seems to be in place even if they've been altered a bit. Where is Sybok?
Oh I'm sure he's still out there, gathering his cult. The changes in the timeline would be relatively minor in the grand scheme of things, only affecting the lives of the Kelvin crew, Kirk's upbringing, and the advancement of technology that got a spark upon the discovery of a super-powerful Romulan ship that popped up after a century of no contact...not to the mention the loss of Vulcan and a number of ships later on. Any major effects would not be felt for quite some time I think. There's no telling who died on Vulcan, the Kelvin and the ships at Vulcan (with survivors spread out to other ships, their lives taking new directions) and whom might have been descended from them.
I believe that Sybok was born far earlier than Spock. If Vulcans must mate every seven years of their adult life, it is logical that Sarek had other mates and therefore other children before marrying Amanda (he was over a hundred years old when we first met him) so I have no problem with the existence of Sybok.
It is interesting to think about all the things out there that wouldn't be affected by Nero's intrusion. Khan is still floating around out there...the Doomsday Machine...the Giant Amoeba...V'Ger and the Whale Probe are currently on their way to Earth. However it may not be Enterprise that encounters them, since their missions will no doubt take them in different directions now. The tales of any other vessels that might deal with these emergencies might make for a good read. :-)
Those tales could be incorporated in any one of the role plays here- as there is nothing that says the role plays have to take place at any particular time.
Ok-I now know what the little x is for... So, Seven, "classified"-- does that mean a temporary Time Station maybe planned for the convention this summer? I know the Intergalactic Bartender would love to set up a bar, but worm holes are hard to come…
Another what if (I'm always dreaming)...a way to keep STTE alive would be to tell the stories of the various "ambassadors" over the ten years as well as other experiences by visitors to the Time Station...wish I knew a writer...
Oh, dear. What you're describing is not what The Spirit of Star Trek is like at all. I have been to most of these events, and they are not religious, except as discussions may include moral, religious, ethical and social issues. Actors and other gue…
