Regarding language - there are a couple of different Cardassian dictionaries online at the moment. There's the one that JaGul Macet posted, and there's also Nerys Ghemor's Cardassian language that she's developed for her writings. I -would- love to see one standardized Cardassian language adopted for fans so we could learn it the way Klingon fans can, but that would only really happen through either a HUGE fan cooperative, or through official Trek channels, and I don't really see either one happening anytime soon. :-/

Greetings,

If we could intermix phonetis, w/ transliteration, we might have a workable substitue for a Cardassian dialect??!  Regional dialects would allow for some differences, but the phonetics...the sounds ...of the language would let peeps understand each other.  What was my ultimate goal when I first launched this vision??  A vision, refined from earlier projects, designed to enhance the Cardassian experience??  It was,,,FUN!!(Sorry, James T.,)  To have a corps of Cardassian warriors come en masse into a Star Trek convention, banners flying, our allies and all others gasping at the sheer inventiveness of a people, now bound together in a single voice...LoxKardasia!!

Greetings all!

This was started in 1995 - anyone clever enough to pick it up and carry on - or take out what we want or need!!!?

On Languages, there is :Translation and Transliteration.  Translation is straight-forward, but, transliteration is different..where a same or similar letter of a given alphabet is merely swapped for the same or similat letter, in another alphabet.  To settle an old arguement, James doohan created the first sounds/letters for Klingon and those after him, like Marc Okrand, refined it.  Now the KLI is working on further development of the Klingon language and there are other languages out there, like Cardassian and Cheron.  My point is, transliteration can be a useful tool for the creative forces in our 'Verse.  It may give you a headache, like Klingon did on TNG, when they tried to translate it, but I believe it is still Kewl enough to be used and should be, 'til we all become interstellar linguists!! Might want to think about changing some colors in the Alliance device??  Also, there is:Translations, and transliterations, which could be done for Cardassian??

Greetings friends!

I just found this badge, it is the seal of the Mirror Universe Klingon-Cardassian Alliance.

I think it would be a great group image to use as our badge!

What say you all?
