Please "sign" this e-petition to get George Takei, Captain Hikaru Sulu, on the Paramount Pictures' Tournament of Roses Parade float.  http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/georgetakeiattherosebowlparade/ (See artist's rendering of the float on my Trekspace blog.)

It was Facebook fans who set up the petition and started a page supporting it - at http://www.facebook.com/pages/George-Takei-at-the-Rose-Bowl-Parade/...  - and there is no cost. (Ignore the page that asks for contributions after you "sign"; that's just for the petition site. You can close the page, your vote was counted.) There are over 25,000 votes already!

After a fair attempt at presenting a Star Trek program for kids at a library, our club has been asked to talk at a librarians' meeting about doing programs for adults. First, Los Angeles City Libraries, then the universe! Well, okay -- we may have some fun and recruit some members.

Doesn't IMDB.com have filming locations in its database?

I was almost going to say "poor Dalek"! But I'm sure it got what was coming to it. I wish there were a website that listed Star Trek filming locations. We know of quite a few around Los Angeles, so we visit to take photos and picnic. A nice one is "Starfleet Academy/Starfleet Headquarters" (up until the recent movie). That's Japanese Gardens in Van Nuys, Calif.

We're a couple of miles just outside the New Forrest.
All we have to do is open the door, and we trip over movie locations. Everything from Doctor Who through to Robin Hood: Prince of Theives and everything else in between has been filmed there.
In fact, only the other month, an original Dalek which was lost in the 1970's was found at the bottom of a local pond. :)

Our next activity is visiting a Sacred Site, which is what we call places that were filming locations for any Star Trek show or movie. In this case, it's Huntington Library in San Marino CA, where TNG episode "Justice" was filmed. (The outdoor area where Wesley falls into the garden and is sentenced to death.) www.ussangeles.org

Spock replied to Fleet Admiral S'Ran (aka) Keith's discussion "Maiden Voyage" in the group Intrepid Class Fleet
"The shuttlecraft lands at pad 2, and as promised there was a commuter waiting. Once Spock  is loaded onboard the Commuter, it takes off from Landing Pad 2 and 2 minutes later the Commuter arrives where the Silver Eagle is docked."
