The Bajoran script is possibly the most complex phonetic script encountered by the federation. The Bajoran written language is thought to have been developed from a logo syllabic script used in the B'hala region on Bajor. The characters are sometimes described as being ideographic (each symbol represents an idea) this is not the case. Although the Bajorans consider each symbol to represent the idea of language, the script is primarily a syllabary, although it has some unusual spelling…Continue

"That's the thing about faith... If you don't have it, you can't understand it.If you do, no explanation is necessary." - Major Kira NerysThe planet Bajor is a beacon of civilisation in the Alpha Quadrant. While humans on earth were not yet standing erect, ancient Bajoran culture flourished producing many great architects, artists, builders and philosophers.Centuries before most nearby races had developed space flight, the Bajorans had already flown their first solar sail vessel to other…Continue

“If you’re not fighting them, you’re helping them” – Shakaar EdonBefore the Dominion War and the decimation of Cardassia... before the coming of the Emissary and the discovery of the wormhole... before Terok Nor became Deep Space Nine... there was the Occupation: The military takeover of an alien planet and the violent insurgency that fought against itIt was the summer of 2318 when Cardassians first set foot on Bajor. The Bajorans answer to two authorities: the church and the state. Unfortunately, these powers are not always in agreement, and the disputes between them occasionally led to conflict and bloodshed. In a great number of civilizations across the galaxy, the dividing line between the power of religion – the church – and the seat of governmental authority – the state – is broad and strongly defined. Yet an equal number of races blend the two agencies together, and one such culture is that of the…Continue

The Bajor sector is in the Alpha Quadrant and contains the Bajoran system, the Federation space station Deep Space 9 and Starfleet's Antares Ship Yards. It has a cubic area of width = 85 ly; length = 102 ly; depth = 90 ly, and contains over a dozen major star systems and many stellar points of interest. The Bajor sector borders the Almatha sector, which is part of the Cardassian Union. The Bajoran system, or Bajor-B’hava’el to give it its proper name, is a star system located around 50 light…Continue

I have mixed emotion about the process involved. For centuries, the only contact to my knowledge was via the orbs. These mysterious items were responsible for the development of many of the ancient prophecies, and this means of communication was very powerful and influencing. With the advent of the Prophets choosing an Emissary, they gave a temporal voice to their intentions, and created an immediate hierarchy within the religious infrastructure that put the Emissary at a similar level of…Continue
