For more than a decade, the Federation, Starfleet and the other major powers of the Alpha and Beta Quadrants as a whole have faced difficult days indeed.  The war with the Dominion nearly brought the major powers of the Alpha and Beta Quadrants to their knees.  The BORG invasion of 2381 nearly wiped them all out of existence. 

 The Federation bore the brunt of the BORG invasion.  Starfleet had been severely weakened having lost 40% of their ships and personnel.  But the Federation and Starfleet did not suffer alone.  All the major powers of the Alpha and Beta Quadrants felt the overwhelming power of the BORG.  As a result of their invasion, over 63 billion lives were lost and dozens of worlds were decimated or left in ruins. 

Much has been done to recover from the devastation left behind by the BORG and the reconstruction effort continues.  However, the Alpha and Beta Quadrants have been changed forever. With the major powers weakened by the invasion, desperation and piracy have run rampant.  Alliances have been strained and new ones have been forged. 

Now with the destruction of the Romulan and Reman homeworlds, the Alpha and Beta Quadrants have once again been pulled into a period of uncertainty that threatens to undermine all the progress gained so far and put all on the brink of disaster. 

These are truly the Darkest of days… 

That is the setting of the Star Trek: Echelon RPG.  We emphasize on role playing in the Star Trek Universe through creative writing, character development and imaginative storylines. The Star Trek: Echelon RPG is seeking new role players for various important positions.  Star Trek Role playing experience is appreciated but not required.

In 2384 the Klingon Empire and the Romulan Empire start proceedings to join the United Federation of Planets several smaller member states of the Federation declare they would succeed should the two powers be allowed to join the UFP. The First Nation of United Earth, a terrorist group, also declares a will to leave should the Klingon and Romulan's join.

In 2385 the Romulan Empire is formally welcomed into the UFP and the First Nation lead several revolts and leave Earth; during this brief period of uncertainty the Federation offers all the support to the founding of New Pangaea near the Bajoran system. A number of key Starfleet personal also take leave of the Federation along with their vessels and supplies. The UFP Council Members veto any call to arms.

2385 also sees that Gateway project under full swing to colonize the Delta Quadrant with factions from all corners of the known Galaxy working together in an alliance. Unfortunately during the access to the Gateway the combined forces of the Breen, Tholian and Cardassian Empire attack and destroy hundreds of vessels. A majority of sections passed into the DQ without fault while others scattered during the collapsing of the corridor. The Task Group 7, of the Seventh fleet lost all but 1 vessel during the conflict

Currently the Federation is struggling with internal security matters, are also still on guard for the unthinkable to happen an attack by the alliance of the Breen, Tholians, and Cardassian Empire. The Seventh Fleet deployed in the area to protect the Federation from attack from the Delta Quadrant, has also been tasked with infiltrating and putting down the First Nation Movement.

[URL="http://pioneer.spcsimms.net"]USS Pioneer[/URL] has been deployed to the Seventh Fleet to help ease the tensions with in the Federation and Starfleet. The Insignia Class Heavy Cruiser under that command of Commander Marcus Bowman is to help patrol the area sector around Starbase Seven as well as continue with what Starfleet started out from the beginning to explore new world and new civilizations. So grab your gear and come aboard and join the crew of the Pioneer

Having just seen ST XI... wow... much closer to the SFB SFU, and yet, still quite different.

Makes me want to adapt Burning Empires to run a trek game.

Hello everyone that Enjoys simming and/or would like to get into it. I would like to inform you about Starbase 72. An Active simm that would like to expand it's crew.At this point we have filled our Senior Staff position and are looking for some civilians and/or Joiner Staff members to help expand are simming experiences. If you are a first time simmer we are more then happy and would very much like to help you learn and get into the Plots on our base. We also have an officer exchange Programs with the Romulans and Klingon's so you are welcome to join under there ranks. All members are put into every mission and we always have some good side plots
