Comment by gary t on February 19, 2011 at 8:21pm Thanks for the info on Gift Trek. I just ordered an OST episode shirt (Shore Leave, one of my favorites) and got my 5 week old son (Leon) an infant OST Science officers toddler. Cool stuff and great prices. $11.95 for the episode shirts. Cannot beat that. I have one of the episode shirts that I bought last year (journey to babel). I am so glad they came out with these. I get compliments all the time and I wear my Star Trek shirts proudly. I just recently got an origonal Star Trek VI movie shirt (no copy, a real late 80s-early 90s movie shirt) on ebay. It is in mint condition and gorgeous (Movie teaser poster).
Peace to all and thanks again for the info.

Comment by ZoMBIE Krik on January 9, 2011 at 1:02pm I guess I'd like to reiterate a couple of points from my previous post:
If you can make a good movie set entirely aboard a starship, then do it. If you can make multiple good movies set entirely aboard a starship, then do it! As for whether the Original Trek movies actually did this seems to be a matter of personal taste, and I know not everybody shares my tastes, and I respect that.
I don't feel new Star Trek has ruined old because it is literally a different spinoff series. I absolutely don't think it is nearly as good as Original Trek, but I enjoyed it on its own merits. This probably returns to personal tastes, but my point is that I don't feel that one Trek series can tarnish another. I'm not a big fan of every Star Trek spinoff series, but I don't feel that one bad series ruins all or any of the others.
I will admit this -- Abrams at the helm of Star Trek bothers me a little. He is a freely admitted non-Trekkie. Some people who were really Trek fans served key positions in making the first film, which helped ensure that it contained integral Trek elements, and I hope they do the same in subsequent movies.
