Where Do the Vulcans Go From Here?

JJ Abrams has made many, many changes to the Star Trek we know and love. Some of them have been great, innovative, and some of them not so good.  I was unsure about seeing the first film, but went because I have a dear older friend who desired my company. I have to say on the whole I was pleasantly surprised with Star Trek XI. I was enjoying it, for the most part. And then got the body-slam of first Vulcan exploding and then Spock's mother dying.  It took a little bit for my head to catch up…See More

T'Bree replied to Steve Emirzian's discussion Things that don't make sense about Wrath of Khan.
"Khan's beloved wife died due to that indigenous life form, the Worm thingie. That's why he sought revenge on Kirk."

T'Bree replied to Steve Emirzian's discussion Things that don't make sense about Wrath of Khan.
"If you recall in Space Seed, Kirk gave Khan access to the ship's library! And Spock makes mention of just how much use their patient was making of it! And how quickly. Still, with this Enterprise being refitted, it is unlikely Khan would know…"

Trekscribbler (aka Ed) replied to LT Com.Narvina Lynn T'Val's discussion Captain Pike
"I think the Trek trinity is probably why the Original Series is so fondly remembered as it is, but I tend to think that the moon landing was really what helped push folks to find the show in syndication.  At least, that's what is…"

T'Bree replied to Alva Lavina T'Vil's discussion If Star Trek OS was to begin on TV now....
"In many ways the technology has advanced since the original series aired. In all fairness, some of the tech items we enjoy every day was based on things from the show. I.E. the first flip-phone. If the show were to start today, certainly the tech…"

T'Bree replied to LT Com.Narvina Lynn T'Val's discussion Captain Pike
"James T. Kirk's character was actually inspired by Horatia Hornblower. Not simply the macho-type Cowboy of the 1960s America. I don't like the spin-off series. I'm so not interested in the wimpy, not-quite-sure-I'm-a-guy male…"

T'Bree replied to LT Com.Narvina Lynn T'Val's discussion Captain Pike
"I agree. Without the TOS cast we've come to know and love so well, The Cage just kind of sits there. I, too, enjoy the one and only two-part episode this series had. Much better writing done this way. It gives us a real reason to love Pike,…"

T'Bree replied to LT Com.Narvina Lynn T'Val's discussion Captain Pike
"I'm sorry to say, that Jeffrey Hunter died on 27 May 1969. Had the Pike character been able to 'carry' the show, it would matter very little. Who could they have gotten to fill his shoes? As for Captain April, he really didn't…"

T'Bree replied to Carol Anne Johnson's discussion Need answers to scenes cut from Enterprise Incident and The Search from Spock
"The Enterprise Incident is one of my favorites. I had the uncut version on VHS, but gave that set to my son (the only true Star Trek enthusiast of my three children) when my hubby and I moved out of state. I do have it on DVD. I do not recall the…"

"I was a huge Sliders fan in the beginning.I agree that as the show went on it absolutely disintegrated into drek.A pity.It had a terrific premise of parallel earths in alternate dimensions. The original cast had wonderful chemistry. If FOX had let…"
