- I've been a Star Trek fan as long as I can remember, but when I know I really got into it was in the 2nd season of Star Trek; I turned on the TV and saw Geordi; I asked my mom who he was, why he had that thing over his eyes, and what the show was. When she explained he was blind, and the cheif engineer, I was hooked. Luckily the older episodes of TNG were reran Monday - Friday; I was only allowed one hour of quality television per night on school nights, so I had my hour; I became hooked almost instantly. I got sidetracked after highschool for about 10 years, but I went to the Star Trek: Convention in Las Vegas this year and had a blast. I'm already saving my money for next year; it is foremost on my mind...

Who's ready for the convention; who's at least saving money and getting excited about it!? The only thing missing from my last convention experience, was not really knowing anyone ahead of time that I could hang out with and visit with while I was there. This time I hope to meet and chat and party with many of you; let me know if you're planning on attending; I'd love to meet you all...Any fan of Star Trek is a friend of mine.

Happy "Independence Day" (4th), everyone.
Perhaps a good day to remember that Gene Roddenberry bravely fought in the south pacific during WWII, long before his Star Trek days.
Seems like today would be a good day to dig out the TOS episode: "The Omega Glory"…
