I was just rewatching City on the Edge of Forever. One of my favorite episodes. I think the speech that Edith Keeler gives is one of the best in all of Star Trek; kind of sums up the message. 'The…Continue

When I was a kid, I proudly displayed all things Trek, wore the tshirts, etc. Then I fell away from it for awhile, after highschool. For awhile when I got back into it this last year, I was afraid to…Continue

Invictus
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

I couldn't figure out how to get this Banner anywhere else, so here it is:

Who's ready for the convention; who's at least saving money and getting excited about it!? The only thing missing from my last convention experience, was not really knowing anyone ahead of time that I could hang out with and visit with while I was there. This time I hope to meet and chat and party with many of you; let me know if you're planning on attending; I'd love to meet you all...Any fan of Star Trek is a friend of mine.
Please sign this petition and help show support for NASA. Let's tell the government that there are still people out there who care about the future...

This is a view of the Space Shuttle Discovery; I'm planning to see it launch from Kennedy Space Center on or around March 18th (that's the target date for it right now.)

Our sun is one of 100 billion stars in our galaxy. Our galaxy is one of billions of galaxies populating the universe. It would be the height of presumption to think that we are the only living beings in that enormous immensity. -Wernher von Braun

This was so cool I decided to use it as my profile picture; I want the full size poster!

Happy "Independence Day" (4th), everyone.
Perhaps a good day to remember that Gene Roddenberry bravely fought in the south pacific during WWII, long before his Star Trek days.
Seems like today would be a good day to dig out the TOS episode: "The Omega Glory"…

Just found this article online, and I encourage everyone to read it.
