From everything that I saw on TOS, it was obvious that Scotty was a diehard nationalist, even in the 24th century. But if he were alive today, do you suppose he would've voted for or against Scottish independence? On the one hand, I think that he would like to see his country stand its own 2 feet, but at the same time, I think that his background in engineering would make him rational enough for him to see the benefits of remaining a part of the United Kingdom.
