- I was a fan of the original series from the beginning; however, I've never felt the same attraction to TNG or the other series. A couple of warnings to potential friends: Although I was prepared to dislike the 2009 reboot, I've enjoyed the film despite it's flaws. I'm also not a really "friendly," chatty or outgoing person. (However, my coworkers will say otherwise.)
Academically, my first love is medical science and research, although history and literature aren't far behind. Over the past few years I've started working with various energy or 'spiritual" healing modalities. I'm also a veteran of the US Army.
My other favorite "playgrounds" include the works of Andre Norton, Lois McMaster Bujold's Vorkosigan saga, P.C. Hodgell, Candace Robb, J.R.R. Tolkien, Thomas Burnett Swann, J.K. Rowling, WaRP's ElfQuest, the DCU and.....my own fiction. If I can adapt any of those to the Trek Universe, yaay.
Additionally, I'm an initiated Priestess of the Magissa, a student of the philosophical system of Trika Saivism and I also appreciate the writings of Julian of Norwich.
Oh yeah, I'm from Iowa....
