- About Me:
- Retired US Navy Submarine veteran. Huge fan of 1950's Sci-Fi movies. Been a Star Trek and Sci-Fi fan for years. Some hobbies I enjoy are amateur astromony. (Love going out to Anza Borrego desert for some unobstructed viewing.) Miniature wargaming (Flames of War is an excellent tabletop WWII game!) Baseball, GO PADRES!!! And since I grew up in Nebraska Go big RED!!!! Huskers!!
Some of my other hobbies are mountain biking, camping and watching rugby (when on the rare occasions I can watch matches here in the states). And I am also an avid kilt wearer. I enjoy a good cigar and a few fingers of good single malt to relax with. While I was in the Navy I traveled quite a bit, big surprise there lol, and have seen a lot of the world.
Places I've visited while serving in the Navy:
Japan (Yokosuka and Sasebo), Hong Kong, Phillipines, Fiji, Chinhae South Korea, Guam, Scotland, Portugal, Norway and the North Pole.
In my personal travels (work and for fun) I've been to Russia (Moscow and St Petersburg), Osan South Korea. Sigonella, Sicily and Naples Italy.
Probably the best tour of duty I had while serving was our North Pole run back in '93. We left San Diego, went up through the Bering Straight. We broke through the ice dozens of time, and spent almost 2 days at the North Pole. We left the ice on the Atlantic side, stopped in Faslane Scotland, went to Puerto Rico and from there through the Panama Canal. We dipped down to cross the Equator and then returned home to San Diego.

The hard work pays off
After quite some time of working full time and taking 1 or 2 classes a semester, I finally graduate tomorrow from San Diego Miramar College with 2 Associate Degrees.

Been away for a bit
Been away from updating my page here in Trekspace, busy with work among other things. Just wanted to send a shout out to my friends here. I've been absent too long. Not sure if I am going to the convention in Vegas this year. Kinda on the fence right now. Still mulling it over though. Needed to update my status here for a while, like some of the new changes I've seen here since my last visit.
