About Me:
I'm a 6'5" art history major with a minor in anthropology... as well as an aspiring artist. I know how tall one is isn't really that important, but when you are a girl this tall, its an issue unfortunately. Its silly, but I still love to play dress up, whether its for a renaissance faire, a convention, big show, or simply steampunk couture, if I don't have something to wear I'll make it for myself. I got into making costumes and accessories at an early age and its now become a passion, I really enjoy creating new things - I feel it allows my soul to come out and play more! Other than that, my true guilty pleasure is that I plays RPG's on the side, I guess its kinda silly, but I enjoy it! I love to travel and study different culutres, while staying away from big hotels and expensive restaurants, I prefer blending into the background and sampling the true local flavors. The world is such a vast, dynamic home to all of humanity and we have so much to offer each other - as long as we open ourselves to it. Other than that, I love archaeology, exotic cultures, and history - already been working on a dig on and off for a few years, and its one of the most rewarding thing I've ever done. History is too important to forget, or at least, thats what I think.

Looking for an A&A officer? I've interned planet bound with prestigious members of the Federation Archaeology Council and am hoping to further my knowledge and understanding of xenoanthropology and historical art periods spanning many species within, and outside of, the Federation. I hope to gain more field experience by finding a post on a starship to get out to that frontier and understand more about our galactic neighbors.

Space curry, and India's fight to the moon.

Okay, I was only going to write one blog today, but I saw this one and had to share. You may or may not know about the space race going on between China, Japan, and India in which they are trying to get to the moon by 2015, but here is an update on one of the hurdles of modern space travel.

Now, I would think that there are many issues to overcome sending a man to the moon but I would never believe making space curry would be one of them. Apparently, scientists in India are trying to find a way… Continue

Transgenic "glowing" Marmoset

This week, Japanese scientists announced they had created green glowing monkies in attempts to produce a transgenic gene in the offspring of a marmoset by way of a virus. While creating a transgenic specimine is not new for science, the ability to do so and carry an added gene to its offspring is.

While this sounds like science fiction, check it out!

A Requiem for Vulcan...

This is my memorial, a requiem to my favorite species in the galaxy - the Vulcans. As I watched the new movie in horror as my beloved planet was destroyed before my eyes, I must say I cried like the illogical human I am. I suppose my reaction would have mortified many of those I hold in such high regard, but if they cannot show their sorrow, then I do it for them.

To be honest, at first, I thought the Vulcans to be nothing more than space elves as I had been a long time Tolkien fan growing up a… Continue

This has got to stop! Where are the real fans?

It should go without saying that everyone here loves Star Trek, why, because we all know a great story when we see it. Whether its TOS, TNG, DS9, etc., we love it and always will because it's classic goodness. As I wander around online I read more and more about how the new movie has RUINED Star Trek for people - I say if it ruined Star Trek for you, then you weren't as big of a fan as you thought. I type this not to offend anyone, trust me, I was just as sad about some of the major changes in t… Continue

A most wonderful thing : Star Trek Corsets!

Today as I searched around in the wonderful world of Trek, I stumbled upon this beautiful corset on Etsy. Created and designed by the oh so stylish EveningArwen, this corset is a mock up of the TNG uniform and it comes in all of the proper colors. I saw it and swooned... if only i have more money - hopefully one day i will get my custom made Trek corset and do some cute pin up work, until then, I'll keep dreaming. Maybe I should start a costume fund... *thinks to myself* lol

If you get a chance… Continue
