- I cut my teeth on StarTrek the original series. My dad and I would watch it together, and I remember comparing the technology of the Enterprise with that of the Eagle as it landed on the moon. I also remember having a smile of satisfaction as I watched the Space Shuttle Enterprise fly, even though it never left the atmosphere.
Later when the Next Generation came out I was skeptical but it grew on me and is now my favorite. I have been a faithful Trekker having watched DS9, Voyager, and Enterprise, but I always dreamed of somehow being “part” of Starfleet.
It was after a trip to Las Vegas that Star Trek the Experience got me going. When I returned home I decided to find some StarTrek fan club to join and see what I could do. I was surprised and gratified to make contact with in fact “STARFLEET” the international fan club.
I wanted to join a ship but since there were no ships in my area I decided to start my own. I now Captain the USS Leonidas NCC-71801 and in a few short months we have grown to be one of the largest “ships” in Region IV, but that is not where it ends.
I am also a teacher and I have formed a Starfleet Academy at my high school. We study science and play online games. I have an Animai department that is working on a comic book called "The Adventures of Captain Krieger". We also have a paintball and laser tag team. The students take classes at the online STARFLEET Academy and upon graduation become commissioned officers aboard the Leonidas.

April Hebert said… - Hi Jonathan--I assume the hot Klingon you were talking about was Major Kahlen. I wouldn't call what she did "flirting"--you're lucky she didn't kill you for fun. Anyway, everything about the new Experience at Neonopolis is up in the air right now--we haven't heard anything. Just waiting to see what happens. I can't speak for the Major, but as far as T'Pril and Tahryn are concerned, they really can't answer that question...it will all be up to the Federation. I would love to see them again. I miss them terribly.
