About Me:
Welcome to my TrekSpace Page. I have been a Trekkie since the 1970's. I began watching during the first phase of reruns when the show appeared nightly on a local independent channel. I was hooked and frequently attended local conventions. Living in New York City, many of the big ones were close by. Including he Bi-Centennial 10 con in 1976 commemorating the 10th anniversary of Star Trek and the USA's Bicentennial. The photo in my avatar was taken during that convention. Wow, was it really that long ago?

Star Trek Movie - Nods to Trek Culture

I want to say that I loved the new movie. But, rather than dwell on yet another glowing review, I thought I'd start my first blog post by starting to compile a list of the nods in the movie to previous Trek shows and movies.

Before I begin I should call a !!!SPOILER ALERT!!! information contained in the rest of this post may contain information about the movie that you may not want to know before seeing it.

So here, in no particular order, are my first 10 Trek Prime… Continue

Greetings,

How are you doing and let me introduce my self. My name is Jonathan Slavin, I am a member of Starfleet, Internal Fan Association. I am also a member of Trek Space. I live in the Bronx. I found you by looking up members in the New York City area.
I am writing to let you know that I am in the processes of launching a new Chapter in the New York City area, which includes all the outlining areas.
The U.S.S. Iwo Jima, which would be the first in a long time for the New York City area.
I would like to know if you would be interested in possibly joining and becoming a member of the ship?
We have plenty of up coming events, come out with use and get to know the crew before you decide. If you have friends that are interested bring them as well.
If you are interested please let me know and to find out more information about the new chapter please check out www.ussiwojima.net.

Issy looks like a great cat too. I am sure there will always be a piece of her in her play partner. I love tuxedo cats. My grandmother had a cutie named Tabitha-I think she started my love for cats.

I also love your page theme song-I haven't heard that for a long time! :o)

September 2: On This Day In Science Fiction History

Love him or hate him, Keanu Reeves is the face of sci-fi for a generation of movie-goers.  He was Neo in The Matrix.  He kinda/sorta took over our planet in The Day The Earth Stood Still remake (the original is still better).  And he traveled through time, all for the purposes of doing a book report, in Bill &…See More

"Some might argue that Frankenstein was THE 1st science fiction story ever written. Personally, I think that one could go all the way back to the story of Icarus & Daedalus, or is that too much of a stretch? "

What I've Been Up To

Hey shipmates, Yeah, I haven't been around much lately, sorry about that. There's been a lot of personal nonsense going on that I won't go into; I come to Trekspace to take a break from sh** like that. Once the dust settles (I hope), I'll be here so much that you'll get sick of me! On a cheerier note, I've also been busy writing the 3rd entry in my Paul Murdock thriller series, and it is now available on Kindle! This is the first time I ever wrote a novella, rather than a novel or a short…See More

"@Mike: You are correct, sir.  Dinklage had a good presence, but from what I remember he was all attitude with little else to do.  Good program that hinted of a great idea, just never really caught fire the way some shows do."
