A problem with the Borg

I have a serious problem with the Borg and their assimilating the other races of Star Trek. The Borg are far superior in technology than the Federation when comes to space travel because truly a borg cube can travel faster than anything the Federation has when it comes to a ship technology etc etc etc. My question is why would the Borg waste their time with Humans, Klingons, Romanulans, etc etc on assimilating these races that are far less technology advanced than the Borg.
