USS ENTERPRISE NCC-1701-B COMMAND HISTORY

2293 - 2293

John Harriman - Harriman was the first commander of the Enterprise B, but after the fiasco with the maiden voyage of the Enterprise B which resulted in the death of Captain James T. Kirk, Harriman was immediately reassigned to a Starfleet Command position on Earth.   Demora Sulu, daughter of Captain Hikaru Sulu, was the Helm Officer of the Enterprise B and remained with the ship.

2293 - 2311

William George - Captain George took over command from John Harriman.  Later in 2311 George and the Enterprise B, along with other Federation ships, were involved in a battle with Romulan Warbirds which became known as the Tomed Incident.  During the fight the Enterprise took major damage to it's defector section.  Due to the fear of a Romulan invasion, the Enterprise was quickly repaired using stored original Excelsior class deflector hull sections and rushed back into service. This repair gave the Enterprise's deflector section the profile of the original Excelsior class ships.  Tensions were extremely high between the Federation and the Romulan Empire which resulted in many stand offs between the two until the Treaty of Algeron was signed.

2312 - 2318

Demora Sulu - Demora Sulu progressed up the chain of command and eventually became the First Officer of the Enterprise under Captain William George.  Sulu was promoted to Captain and became the commander of the Enterprise upon George's promotion to Admiral. After seven years as Captain of the Enterprise, Sulu was promoted to Fleet Captain and reassigned to Starfleet Command on Earth.  It was thought Sulu took this position in order to be closer to a terminally ill relative.

2319 - 2329

Thomas Christopher Johnson Jr. - Captain Johnson was the last commander of the Enterprise B.  In the later half of 2320s Johnson and the Enterprise were assigned to patrol the newly established border with Cardassian space.   The Enterprise B was involved in many tense situations as the Federation and the Cardassian Union came close to an all-out conflict.  Later when the Cardassians annexed Bajor, the Enterprise B offered assistance to a number of Bajoran refugee ships.   The Enterprise B was lost in deep space in 2329.  Some believe that Johnson and the crew were suffering from some sort of new space born plague-like illness at the time and left for deep space to prevent the spread of the disease.
