My Vulcan Biography

Stott of Vulcan

Species: Vulcan (Vuhlkanu)
Birthplace: Llangon Village in the province of Khomi on T’Khasi (Vulcan)
Approximate age 100, born on 15 September 2261 (61st year in the time of Rha on Vulcan)
Current rank and position: Captain, First Officer, USS Ronald E. McNair
Education:
Vulcan – Doctorate level degree in military studies from the Vulcan Institute of Defensive Arts
Masters Degrees in Exploration and V’Shar training
Advanced training in the following Vulcan mental discipline paths: Khat, Lis, Rha (Master), Shan, and Tas
Starfleet – Graduate of Starfleet Academy with honors with dual majors in Command and Security
Masters level degrees in Military Tactics
Captain Stott served for 30 years with the Vulcan Defense Forces before leaving there and joining Starfleet. He is a 20 year veteran with Starfleet. By earth years he was 50 years old before entering the Vulcan Defense Forces. Stott spent, from the age of 15 to 50, in deep study and learning with a Vulcan master in the mental disciplines of his heritage. Originally he wanted to be a priest but at about the age of 7 when he underwent the trials of his native world to enter into manhood, he experienced a vision which told him that his path was the way of the warrior. At the age of 20 Stott entered the Vulcan Institute of Defensive Arts. There he studied the ways of the warrior. Despite his strong passive training he showed a unique aptitude for strategy and combat. Stott spent more years at the Institute than any other student and also served time there as an instructor. On many occasions during his time as an instructor he would leave the school to “study abroad.” Rumors have it that the Vulcan High Council sent Stott out on missions of a very dangerous nature. None of these rumors have ever been substantiated though. During Stott’s years in the VDF he served with distinction receiving numerous citations for bravery and attaining the rank of brigadier general. Stott believed in honing his war fighting skills and to do this he subjected himself to going through the Forge Ritual every seven years. Normally Vulcans only have to do this once but he retests himself every seven years and still does this to this day. It was in his 49th year of life while he was going through this ritual and meditating that he felt the call to leave the VDF and join Starfleet. So, at the age of 50 Captain Stott resigned from the VDF and joined Starfleet Academy. He graduated with honors and majored in command and security. Due to his experience in the VDF he was commissioned as a Lieutenant Commander in Starfleet and started his first assignment as a Chief of Security aboard the USS Enterprise, NCC 1701C under Captain Garrett. Had it not been for an emergency mission that LCDR Stott was on for Vulcan at the time, he surely would have perished with the crew and ship on that fateful day when the responded to a distress call from the Klingons which resulted in the death and destruction of that crew and ship. Following the destruction of the Enterprise, Stott was reassigned on detached duty to serve with the MACO team on Earth. He served for a few years there as both an instructor and served with their special forces operation teams. It was rumored again that during this time Stott was called on by Vulcan for “unusual” missions. Stott was later promoted to Commander and assigned aboard the Intrepid II as the first officer for this ship. Following a rewarding tour with that ship he was then promoted to Captain and assigned to the USS Ronald E. McNair. It was at that time that Captain Stott and his crew participated in the Dominion wars. Following the war Captain Stott took a leave of absence and relinquished command of the McNair to return to Vulcan. After a ten year break in Starfleet service he returned to Starfleet and requested assignment back aboard the McNair where he was offered the position of First Officer where he currently is assigned.

Captain Edward Jellico

I have noticed in a few of the Star Trek books and comics that feature Edward Jellico, the former Captain of the Cairo and Enterprise D, that he is regarded as a bad captain.  I quite disagree with this assessment if you go by his orginally seen performance as captain of the Enterprise while Picard was placed on a special ops mission.  I would like to hear your opinion of what you think of the good captain.  I, for one, liked his style of leadership.  Looking forward to your comments.

Star Trek Email

Recently Star Trek Email was launched (www.startrekemail.com) and the reaction from the fans has been tremendous. The three current choices are ....@starfleet.com, .....@ussenterprise1701.com and .....@toboldlygo.com. For me I just had to have a USS Enterprise email (But I'm a pilot so perhaps that's why it appeals). If those three addresses don't excite you what Star Trek email address would you like to have?See More
