That's a fine looking Klingon you've got there! And you two are so cute!

I love these pictures which show TrekSpace folks as young people getting their Trek on. It would be a cool group to have here--"Pictures of Me as A Young Fan." (I didn't find the fandom until I was almost forty....Never grow up! Not me!)

I agree, Fenna--they are terrifying! Even when someone tried to comfort me by explaining that skeletons couldn't move without muscles and ligaments, it didn't make me feel any better. WAH! It's weird though-'cause they are also kinda...cute.

TrekSpace Member Michael P. Murphy's "To Rule In Hell"

To Rule in Hell by Michael P. Murphy

Hello, TrekSpace!
As an old time zine editor, I know first hand how deep the talent of my fellow fans can run. (Many names familiar from amateur publications of the seventies , eighties and nineties have become published, paid authors -- Julia Ecklar, Lorraine Bartlett, Ann Schwader and Roberta Rogow, just to mention a few cherished examples!)
I have had the pleasure of discovering the work of TrekSpace friend Mike Murphy in recent months. Only had to read h… Continue

Mike Murphy's "Suka--a Paul Murdock Novel"

Hello-o-o-o, TrekSpace!

Wah! I tried to slow down because I didn’t want it to end! But it was too good and I just had to finish it. LOL Not that! You naughty spacers! I’m talking about Mike Murphy’s “Suka”. Mike is a member here. I was reading his page and—holy starships! --I see the cover of his LATEST novel. Well I’ve found some really good reading on this site. Poetry, stories, inspired stuff. Mike Murphy writes…novels! Great cover—the onion domes of St.Basil’s. Gotta check it. So I waltz ov… Continue

All-Call for help locating Robert Fletcher's Wardrobe Designer Personal Notes of Star Trek I, II, and III (etc)

Hi, Trekspace Friends!

Does anyone possess this elusive book? I can't find it on the Web, at the Roddenberry Store or on Amazon. Here is the info I have been able to gather about it:
Title:
Robert Fletcher's Wardrobe Designer Personal Notes of Star Trek I, II, and III (and) Star Trek Starfleet Uniform Construction Manual (Paperback)
by Robert Fletcher and J. E. Brooks.
Description:
Two titles bound together in a format resembling a school report, with plastic clasp and covered with clear vinyl.… Continue

July, 1969--where were you?

This month being the fortieth anniversary of the Apollo 11 flight to the moon, the successful walk by astronauts on our little gray satellite, and their safe return, how about it? Were you born yet?
I was twenty, nearing the end of a junior half-year in Rome, Italy, studying Latin and Greek. (Definitely heading for a career in astrophysics!) The program I was in took a group of about thirty college students from institutions all over the country and housed us in a small convent-run hostel on the… Continue

Launch of Shuttle Endeavor--huzzah!

Anticipation is building as the hour approaches for the launch of Endeavor tonight and decisions have to be made about whether or not to go for it. Whatever happens, here's a song for the occasion--Julia Ecklar singing Leslie Fish's "Shuttle Watchers Waltz."
Who cares about the weather--let's dance!

Oh, dear. What you're describing is not what The Spirit of Star Trek is like at all. I have been to most of these events, and they are not religious, except as discussions may include moral, religious, ethical and social issues. Actors and other gue…
