- Founded in 2006, Wolverine Studios is an amateur, home based digital film studio specializing in Machinima productions.
Using a select collection of video capture, animation and editing softwares, Wolverine Studios is capable of producing nearly any effect available in Hollywood today.
The Past:
Wolverine Studios' beginnings start back in the days of the MechWarrior 2 game series (FASA & Activision) and the online gaming leagues they began. Our founder, James Aemielius, was a member of Clan Wolverine in the Grand Council League and used a program called 'GunCam' to record his Clan's battles with other teams in order to use them as training films.
While 'GunCam' was adequate for training films, its resolution was poor.
It wasn't until the MechWarrior 4 series (FASA & MS) came out and he was shown a recruiting film for the Red Griffin Mercenary Unit (RGMU) and its use of FRAPS that Aemielius realized he could finally get clear, high resolution training films.
What also intrigued him was the mix of live action and game video that the RGMU used in their film.
This intrigue, a new tool and some basic editing skills learned while making the training films has lead to the founding of Wolverine Studios.
The Present:
Wolverine Studios now focuses on creating Science Fiction Machinima Fanimations based primarily in the Star Trek and BattleTech universes.
Up to now, we have been creating short, subtitled clips as a way to improve our technical skills and increase our familiarity with our tools and stand ever ready to take the next step.
Our current large project is part four of our Star Trek Kestral saga in which we are putting to use everything we have learned over the last two years which will include the creation of new visual effects, sound effects, camera work and lip synching.
As of 1 July 2011, we have begun actively moving into the Sci-Fi universes of Star Wars, Stargate & Doctor Who by acquiring the mod packages for the games used in our Machinima features and creating the Special Effects seen in those universes.
The Future:
The future looks bright if a bit distant. Plans are to expand into more live action material with integrated video and sound equipment and include a large indoor area to use as a sound stage.
Plans for our pure Machinima production are to include more Action, Comedy and Horror; shorts and features.

The USS Constitution, NCC-1700 is the 'class' ship, as such all Constitution class starships that follow should have registry numbers greater than 1700.
