- CHIEF ENGINEER USS CYGNUS NCC 1973-A........................... Am I a "trekkie" or a" trekker"? some of the things I like.... sciences,aviation,aerospace,cats,shooting pool,and bass guitar. TNG is my favorite but I love "ALL" star trek, my very first memories at 3yrs old of tv were TOS and apollo 11. in 5th grade my teacher asked the class to name your hero and why.naturally I said captian james t kirk, because he is fearless,and a great leader and never leaves a crew member behind except if they get killed by hostile aliens. the class got a good laugh out of that. I am a trekkie or treker all the way, star trek inspired me to study hard in science and math and go into the mechanical engineering field . Currently I am semi-retired from aerospace engineering ,for the time being I am employed as a automotive cylinder head tech and moonlight as bass guitar player in the blues/rock band "MUSH" (maingy,unwanted,shabby,heroes) I've made some "GREAT" friends here on TREKSPACE and consider them my extended family, when the world gets me down I come to TREKSPACE and all my worries and woes disappear then I have the courage to "TREK ON"

RETIRING THE SHUTTLE FLEET
Is NASA making a mistake by retiring the shuttle fleet? This would make american astronauts "astro-hitch hikers" But on the other side this would open the door more for private spacecraft. So get your permit build your spacecraft and blast off to the "Final Frontier" much like the barnstorming days in the dawn of aviation. Private spacecraft would really reduce the "Red Tape" factor. Quoting "QUARK" from the final episode of DS9 "The more things change, The more they stay the same"
