Welcome to the Official TREKSACE Page for the independently produced non-profit web series STAR TREK BEGINS previously known as STAR TREK: THE EARLY YEARS. STAR TREK BEGINS is based on Gene Roddenberry's first Star Trek pilot "The Cage" and the new STAR TREK film by J.J. Abrams.
In the STAR TREK BEGINS timeline history, there was an Enterprise before the new model Enterprise in the movie. The “original” Enterprise was commanded first by Robert April and then by Christopher Pike until that Enterprise was decommissioned and replaced with the new Enterprise. Pike was the new Enterprise’s commander until a promotion to Admiral allowed him to be relieved by Kirk as commander of the new Enterprise.
STAR TREK BEGINS chronicles the early missions of the movie Captain Pike and his first crew aboard the original USS ENTERPRISE. The series starts in 2250 eight years before the events seen in the new movie. The Enterprise crew will be the same characters that were in the original pilot "The Cage" but they will be adapted to the new movie timeline.
In this history, Pike and his crew were not extensively affected by Nero’s attack on the Kelvin in 2233, and the events of Captain Pike on Rigel VII and Talos IV remain pretty much the same in this history as it was in the TOS history.

A NOTE TO PARAMOUNT
STAR TREK BEGINS is a "prequel" with a majority of different principal characters and is set in an earlier time period in the new Trek movie universe. We are not a series using the main movie premise of the original Star Trek TV series. We have three characters (Pike, Spock, and Scotty) based on the new movie versions, but these characters are in earlier stages of their Starfleet careers. Also our series premise is based more on Roddenberry's original STAR TREK pilot 'THE CAGE' but set in 2250 eight years before the movie.
Our web series STAR TREK BEGINS is meant to complement the new STAR TREK movie; not compete with it. We hope our series will supply the "Trek fix" for the new movie fans while they wait for the next new PARAMOUNT STAR TREK movie to hit the big screen. We are promoting the new STAR TREK movie franchise as much as we are our own web series. We hope our web series will help to create even more new Star Trek fans and possibly help disgruntled TOS fans glow to accept the new Star Trek movie universe and franchise.
We hope this will be a "win-win" situation for PARAMOUNT and for us as artists and fans of STAR TREK, but If we receive the official "cease and desist" from PARAMOUNT, then we will reluctantly submit to their demand.

USS ENTERPRISE BRIDGE (2240 - 2257) 
Our "original" Enterprise Bridge is based on the Kelvin Bridge and will be accomplished by a combination of Practical Set Pieces and Computer Generated Environments.
