Please forgive the commercial, but a guy asked to make a living!

Greetings, shipmates! I know I'm not around here as much as I'd like to be, but one of the reasons is that I'm devoting more and more of my time to my writing. This is my latest effort. It's only in the last year that I've taken a shot at writing poetry. I've never really been all that big a fan of this particular type of writing as a reader, but as a writer, I have to admit that it's challenging to try to get across an idea with only the bare minimum of words.

I hope that you'll give…

FINALLY! Someone Inside the Industry Has The Guts To Speak About JJ Abrams' Star Trek Universe

As Star Trek enthusiasts, we all have our respective opinions on the franchise, the state of it, the persuasive and enduring power of the TV series and films, and so on and so forth.  Like so many, I've not been all that 'kind' to the JJ Abrams version of our beloved universe.  Oh, as I've said over and over, I…

Hi everyone!

I don't know who's going to read this, but thanks for letting me join your group. I have no idea how big this place is, but it seemed like a good place to make some Star Trek friends since I don't have very many in real life. I am 24 years old and I live in central Canada, I've been into Star Trek for about a year now.

I would have started watching it a lot sooner if I had listened to my fiance when we first started dating four years ago. He said it…

Lost among stories...

Yep, I've been officially 'kidnapped' by Captain Rex and Commander Cody of Star Wars: The Clone Wars (3D version). Well, them and Star Trek. Crossing the two universes is NOT easy but it IS fun. =^-^=

Then you add in Digimon, Pokemon, Predator, CSI Miami and New York, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Mortal Kombat...hum, I might have forgotten a 'realm' or two...but you get the point. :P

All fun! Even if it is going to give Obi-Wan Kenobi and Kathryn Janeway…

He is Choked`Hue the son of a Borg drone

But that don't make him bad.

then one day when the Klingon met this Borg chick

and she batted her big 7 of 9  eyes

That's when Choked`Hue just lost his Gawd damn mind

What I've Been Up To

Hey shipmates,

Yeah, I haven't been around much lately, sorry about that. There's been a lot of personal nonsense going on that I won't go into; I come to Trekspace to take a break from sh** like that. Once the dust settles (I hope), I'll be here so much that you'll get sick of me!

On a cheerier note, I've also been busy writing the 3rd entry in my Paul Murdock thriller series, and it is now available on Kindle! This is the first time I ever wrote a novella, rather than a…

Gilligan's Trek By Casey Menace

Just sit right back

And you'll hear a tale,

A tale of a fateful Trek,

The story of the Enterprise,

A star ship on a trek.

The First Officer was a Vulcan man,

The captain, a ham to go.

The Enterprise set sail that day,

For a three season show,

A three season show.

The budget started getting rough,

The trekking show was tossed.

If not for the letters of the fearless fans

The show would have been lost.

The show would have…

Still counting!

It was 41 years ago today that I was given an emergency tracheotomy. One of the so-called "doctors" actually had the balls to say to my parents, "I give him a week, tops." The last I heard, he died several years ago of a cocaine overdose, and I'm still here, just like Admiral Kirk on Regula. Like a poor marksman, he missed the target!

The Start of Something Big (I hope)

My new science fiction novel, "Gone A-Viking," went on sale on Thursday on Kindle, and has already sold 4 copies. Not exactly Stephen King, but it's still the most books I've ever sold in such a short amount of time. If anyone here was one of the buyers, you have my eternal gratitude!

Jeffrey Combs to Perform “Nevermore: An Evening With Edgar Allan Poe” in Boston

I think Jeffrey Combs is my favorite actor of the entire Star Trek franchise.  While I'm disappointed that (so far) he isn't coming to Boston for the Creation con, I did find out that he's bringing his EA Poe performance to Boston for Halloween!

More details here:

Original or Copy

Star Trek TOS episode "The Changeling" vs Vger.

An Earth probe gains sentience and threatens the Enterprise and consequently Earth.

Anyone see the similarity or is it just me?
