Dr. Bashir was always a bit of an odd duck to me. When he first showed up on STAR TREK: DEEP SPACE NINE, he was kinda/sorta ... well ... loopy, for lack of a better word. I'd read somewheres that producers had initially intended his sexuality to…Continue

I had the idea today on a Borg emblem communicator for some reason. probably because of my character! lol.
anyway, got to talking about my dad on it and on how to possibly create one. he thought a plastic version, using the chip from a regular communicator (toy version?) for sound effects would be interesting. I was thinking more of a metal version with a chip that would allow sounds and voice.
anyway, anyone else think of this kind of thing or something similar…Continue

Ladies in the sci-fi universe mustn't only be sexy to survive ... they gotta be tough. And being brainy sure doesn't hurt. Those are all of the distinct vibes given off my actress Ming-Na Wen, which is what made her a perfect addition to the cast of…Continue

Hello , everyone. A few months ago, my husband , Ernest hit a pedestrian with our car and killed her. She was trying to collect insurance , I guess, it was not his fault. Needless to say I have been emotionally tied up as well as financially. I knew it had effected me, when this past Halloween, I did not dress up in my usual Halloween Trek gear. I just have not been my old Trek self...guess I am just burned out on Star Trek. I hear roomers Micheal Dorn wants to start a Star Trek show again.…Continue

Well, well, well ... impressive indeed! On this day in 1994, the past meant the present in STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION's debut motion picture, STAR TREK: GENERATIONS, which saw the venerable Capt. James T. Kirk meeting his demise in an act of bravery that saved everyone aboard the…Continue

On this day back in 1990, Wesley Crusher kinda/sorta did the unthinkable: he grew up! "Final Mission" saw the ensign and Capt. Picard shipwrecked on a desert planet, and the circumstances brought…Continue
I want to attempt to make my first ever costume but I have NO idea where to begin since I've NEVER ever made anything before. I don't even have a sewing machine. The only thing I have are ideas and reference pictures. Where do I go from there? I literally have no clue. What should I be measuring on myself? How do I get from the ref pics to some kinda blueprint for the costume? Do I need that grid plastic thingy I saw at the fabric store? How do I even use that or scale…Continue
Because of my various interests -- science fiction, aliens, conspiracies, etc. -- CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND is one of those films that really ought to resonate with me more than what it does, and for the life of me I couldn't say why it doesn't. I guess that, having…Continue
Hey, folks! Me again! Like I said yesterday, with the holidays just around the corner, I thought I'd continue in that vein and throw up a quick post about this smashing Doctor Who print that I stumbled across in my internet journeys today. It's a bit pricey at $40.00, but, wowza! does it look pretty…Continue

The Tholians made their grand entrance into Trekdom when, on this day in 1968, "The Tholian Web" premiered on NBC. The story pitted the crew of the Enterprise -- less Capt. Kirk, whom they believe to be missing-in-action -- against the dastardly aliens intent on snaring the starship in a huge galactic…Continue

Hey, folks! I'd never seen these before, and then they popped on my radar whilst I was checking my email today. They look FAN-TAS-TIC, if I don't say so myself, and I thought I'd post the link here in case anyone was interested. The holidays are just around the corner, and it's never too…Continue
Those dastardly Ferengi are up to no good in "The Battle," an episode of STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION that premiered on this day back in 1987. The story pitted Capt. Picard against his Ferengi counterpart seeking vengeance for a battle that happened years earlier.…Continue

I take a lot of heat when I tell fans that I never much cared for Whoopi Goldberg as Guinan during her stint on STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION. It isn't that I didn't care for Whoopi; it's just that Guinan's character always felt too incidental -- a bit of a convenient…Continue

Rom always was a bit of a doofus ... but a lovable one, at that. And who wouldn't celebrate his finally scoring the lovely Leeta, the Dabo Girl, to be his very own? Max Grodenchik must've had an awful lot of fun under all of that make-up; the evidence shows that he…Continue

The late actor Vincent Schiavelli certainly had a charm all of his own, and that's largely why Tinseltown saw to it that he appeared in well over one hundred film and TV projects. During STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION's run, Schiavelli even had a guest spot; he guest starred as 'the Peddler'…Continue

Since none of my self-published novels are selling, I’m going to try publishing one of them as an e-book on Kindle, and hopefully reach a wider audience. I’m preparing to design a new cover, and can’t decide if I should include an image of the main character. Usually, I don’t do that because I want to leave it up to the reader to picture the character in their own imagination. At the same time, however, I have to admit that one of my guilty pleasures is reading those Mack Bolan: The…Continue
On this day in 1966, the Enterprise came face-to-face (ahem) with an alien ship hell bent of destroying them for actions they had taken against its probe in the episode titled "The Corbomite Manuever."…Continue
