Drex Files

I don't know if this has already been posted, but thought I would add it...

Doug Drexler, a special effects / prop / model maker and all around good guy, has worked on most of the Star Trek series and a few of the films.

He has a blog where he revisits some of his efforts, and reminisces about his love of Trek, WWII aircraft, and many other topics of interest.

You can find his blog here:… Continue

A Ranting Blog about Blogs...

There was a blog post up about the appropriate views and expression of human sexuality in Star Trek. The author posited that author's of fan fiction films and the like should be careful about expressing overt sexual orientation themes, especially if they are gay themes.

Granted, this elicited a few responses. All were very thoughtful. Some more strident than others. (Yes, I responded too, referencing the Kirk/Uhura first interracial kiss on television that upset my mom quite a lot back… Continue

Last Blog on Old Star Trek Pics from the 90s...

I linked all these photos to the home page of my hobby art site.
(No, it is not specifically sci-fi related. That's just one aspect of my interests, though a big one!)

So if you're ever looking for those photos and fonts, just go here:

Old Trek Movie/Filming Models

As I noted before in a previous blog, I saved images of "William McCullars IDIC" Trek filming/television models history. (Sadly, the site is gone.)

So here they are in a quick thumbnail, easy-to-browse version:

And you can see the some images from the defunct but lovely site "Star Trek Art Gallery" here at:…

William McCullar's IDIC Web Images and Other 90's Trek Internet Imagery

Hello all TrekSpace Trekkers,

Back in the early days of the Internet during the 90's (Well, yes, the Internet does go way back much further thanks to the Defense Dept) there were several Trek sites put up by fans. Two of my favorites were "The Star Trek Art Gallery" and William McCullar's IDIC website. Both were a treasure trove of imagery, imagination, and information.

At the time I saved many of their images and later stored them… Continue
