Wicked: A Broadway Musical

The show was nothing short of amazing. Wicked is based in time before The Wizard of Oz. The Wicked Witchs of the West and East (Elphaba and Nessarose) and Glinda the Good Witch of the North all go to college together. The play is based mostly on Elphaba's and Glinda's point of view. Elphaba is basically an outcast who no one seems to like very much (she was born green) where Glinda is majorly popular.
Glinda and Elphaba end up as roommates, its funny because both of them have totally diffrent personalities. Anyway near the begininng of the play the college's president sees Elphaba accidentaly use magic after one of the other students tried to take off with Nessarose's wheelchair. Madame Morrible desides to train Elphaba to be the Wizard of Oz's personal aide and Elphaba agrees. (Elphaba sings 'The Wizard and I' she had an awesome voice)
While Morrible and Elphaba are talking, the scene changes to show Glinda with a few of her friends. Glinda had just recived a hat from her grandmother. It is a black witches hat. Glinda says she will never wear the thing so her friends talk her into giving it to Elphaba.
The next part of the play is a dance. It starts off with Glinda trying to get rid of a munchkin called Bock that is completly in love with her. Glinda notices Nessarose sitting off by herself and tells Bock to take her to the dance, he agrees and Glinda goes with the extremly hot Fiyero. After everyone starts dancing, Elphaba shows up wearing the black hat and scares the hell out of everyone, they leave the dancefloo were Elphaba is dancing by herself. Glinda and Fiyero watch her for a moment then Glinda walks over and says "May I have this dance?" (crowd laughs) Both wave there arms a bit and jump around until everyone starts dancing again. Eventually attention turns back to Nessarose and Bock. Bock starts walking over to were Glinda and Fiyero have just stopped like hes going to ask Glinda for a turn. Before he does he turns back to Nessarose and says "There is somthing you should know..." but Nessarose interrupts him to say "I know, its because you felt sorry for me because I am in a wheelchair..." Bock looks at Glinda again then turns to Nessarose and breaks out in song "no its because you're so beautiful". He runs the wheelchair onto the dancefloor and dances around Nessarose.
As the dance starts to break up, Elphaba, Nessarose, and Bock all leave the stage and Morrible shows back up. She distracts Glinda from Fiyero and he leaves along with everyone else. Morrible tells Glinda that Elphaba wanted her to do magic training with her. Glinda is pretty surpised but agrees.
Later that night, in Glinda and Elphaba's room. Glinda decieds to make Elphaba popular (this was followed by the extreamly annoying song 'Popular' Glinda has this idiotic blonde kind of voice which just made it worse) All Glinda really did was unbraid Elphaba's hair and stick a pink rose behind her hair (pink does not go with green in the least). After the 'Popular' song, Glinda hands Elphaba a mirror and says "Oh Elphaba, look! You're beautiful" Elphaba just says " I...I really have to go" and runs off stage" Glinda sings/talks "You will be popular alright, just not as popular as me!"

Ok thats like the first four scenes, I will continue working on this someother time but here are a few pics of the preformance.

Elphaba and her sister Nessarose. In this scene Nessarose asked Elphaba what she was doing in Muchkin land when she was supposed to be in hiding.Elphaba answers "Well, there's no place like home" (this is before Dorothy shows up)

Glinda and Elphaba. Glinda is telling Elphaba that the city guard knows where she is and are coming. Elphaba refuses to leave. Funny line in this scene was Glinda saying "They are just SHOES, give it up already.Let the girl go and her little dog Dodo" (After Dorothy shows up, Elphada has her locked up)
