I just watched two TNG episodes from the 5th season. Ahh...how good and familiar it feels to  watch this series! It's true, there are other good shows around and I enjoy them. But none of them feels like TNG for me. I have probably seen each episode at least a dozen times, probably even more, but I'm never bored of anything TNG.

Tonight I chose "Cause and Effect" and "Cost of Living". Both titles I used and still use many times as a subject in my e-mails  *smiles*. Especially "Cost of Living" is one of my all-time-favorite TNG episodes. I find it's pure pleasure to watch Majel Barret-Roddenberry play Lwaxana Troi. She did such an amazing job with that character! This episode is also my favorite among the various Lwaxana Troi episodes. One of the most memorable quotes of this episode seems to be "The higher....the fewer" *g*

"Cause and Effect" is an episode mainly about the puzzle of a time loop. There are nearly no personal revealings...other than that Captain Picard's aunt Adele had a thing for helpful concoctions against sleeplessness *lol*. Maybe I luuuv this episode just because of that...

In fact, I love ALL TNG eps. - and some even more.

Yep, I agree with both of you. These are all wonderful episodes. Of course I love "Relics"....so great to watch Scotty and the old Enterprise bridge! And yes, "All Good Things" IS the best Star Trek finale, imho. I didn't really like the finale of "Voyager"; it seemed somewhat forced to me. DS9's "What you leave behind" feels so sad with me...so, yes, it's "All Good Things", definitely!

I agree with you, there are so many fantastic TNG episodes, the kind of stories that even non-Trek fans would be impressed with.  I also think All Good Things.. is the best finale as well.

Star Trek Into Darkness: Spoiler Alert

In the tradition of David Letterman, I now present not one but two top 10 lists of everything that I liked and didn't like about the latest Star Trek movie, starting with the positive. So here we go...10: Lots of action. I know many people complain that this was nothing but an action movie that just happened to have Star Trek in the title, but I would rather sit through this again, than go back in time 30 years to sit through Star Dreck: The Motionless Picture, where nobody does anything but…See More

The latest Trek movie.

A quote I read on Facebook: "Don't bankroll the intellectual desolation of the franchise by paying to see the latest film by J. J. Abrams. I have to believe you have better things to spend money on than encouraging Star Trek to be more about explosions and less about finding humanity in the void."
