In the name of Star Trek...

My very best friend , Meridith Bloom, Who I idolised for many years was assumed missing or dare I say it....moved on to another conscious  realm has been rediscovered again due to our Star Trek -like technology!  We were very good friends , pen pals from the start picking her up form the add in the origial Star Trek magazine ...when they used to post pen pal want  adds in the back of the old classic issue. We used to write to each other after every eposode of DS9 , corrisponding by letter ( snail  mail) and cassette recording also by mail! I lost tuch with her after her discovery of skin cancer , she had already been through so much! For roughly 10  years I wrote to her off and on, never forgetting her, never receiving a response in the mail box . I named my child after her, Meridith Hokulani, who is now ten years old. I nearly passed out , when yesterday I received a call from her! She had found me on Facebook and had been looking for me all of those years!!!!! When I look back ...I think of all the wonderful exciting changes in technology and how we communicate that helped a long lost friend find another person.....the missing hole in one' s life. We are connecting in a whole new way.....on facebook....and hopeful  Trek Space post at a time! Thank you Star Trek, for all the little devices like the cell phone and the internet and wide screens and galaxies of miles that brought two best friends back together in each other' lives again. If your just wondering about that certain person you lost tuch years ago,........look them up! You may just be surprised and make their day by a simple phone call. The best news of all...Meridith is a survivor of skin cancer!
