making star trek the machinima series

There have been many star ttrek machinimas overr the last few years and many may wonder why I am call ing my series star trek the machinima series. The reason I am calling it that in my opinion many of the people who made and are making these videos are not really trying. I consciencly think about what I am doing. I have a theme and a story and a motive behind what I am doing with my series.I am not tryintg to be funny all the time or too serious all the time. I am not making an action series or a romance. I am tryong to make a star trek episode. I am thinking about what is star trek when I make an episode. To me star trek is an entertaining way to make people think about good and evil in our own lives. I put it in a sci fi text that they can be entertained with but at the heart of each of my episodes I am trying to covey a message. Our world is not perfect, and niether is the worlsd of star trek, but I at least want to outline what is wrong with it and have people think about it for a moment. I dont try to be direct, that would not be entertaining, but the messege is there, For example, the first episode I made, A voice for the voiceless deals with animal rif=ghts and terrorism. The two concepts in our lives today are in conflict. I try to cast a light ubn the episode that shows that thetre is hope that the issues could be resolved in a non violenyt and non judicial way. that both sids of the issue could benifit and come together to bring about the greater good. I also tried to point out the evil in the profit off animal abuse. It is a huge problem today and people should really look at it closer.

\ I giess what I am trying to say is that nojne of my episodes should be taken as just someones attempt at emulating star trek, but an efforyt to use star trek to convey a message. I believe the original series did that. They took an issue and made it entertaining, but I think the writters felt an obligation to have some sociological maessage in their work. That is what I am trying to do. So when i call this the star trek machinima series, i am saying this is star trek, and that this is something you should pay attention to. thetre is a message here. This is not just for wows, it is more for ethe ah ha kind of people.
