Meeting Female Trek Legends
A few weeks ago, some readers will recall my exploits at Peterboroughs Greatest Show in the Galaxy, an event in which my friends and I from Starbase 24 raised £392 for Macmillan Cancer Support. I also got a chance to meet Jeri Ryan
Last weekend I was on the road again, this time at Peterborough. I got to my photograph taken with Nichelle Nichols (Uhura), and I spent Sunday helping the Novare alliance raise money for Sands, a UK charity for neo natal health research.
This is what I love about being a Star Trek fan. Not only to I get to wear the uniform of my heroes, not only to I get to meet some of those heroes, but I get to do charity work, and try to make the work a better place, one small peice at a time.

As a side note, I find it amazing that the sci-fi gere of actors are the only ones who come out to events and meet fans!
It is rare I ever hear of soap opera stars doing this, or tv drama actors doing this, or even super popular shows doing anything like this. But hell if you dont see every scifi actor that is still in the biz out there meeting people! (from what I read about it)

WOW to meet Nichelle Nichols!!!! I would prolly pass out!
When I started watching Voyager and Jeri Ryan showed up on screen, I drink almost came out of my nose!!!
At first glance I thought it was my sister! Then I heard her voice, and of course it wasnt. But damn.....at that point in time, they could have been almost twins!!!
Ive never been to any scifi or ST function, although Ive wanted to go really badly. Leonard Nimoy was here in Dallas at a convention last year and I wanted to go SOOOOOOOOOO bad and meet him, but I just didnt have the money...that stuff is SOOO EXPENSIVE!!!! Damn, you gotta pretty much be filthy rich to go to one of those things, and meet people like them!
