The Enemy Within first aired October 6, 1966. I can only assume that the stardate being sooner than that of The Naked Time is due to the Enterprise having gone back in time at the end of The Naked Time episode.
Things I liked:
How Spock checked on Jim.
They used eyeliner to accent evil Kirk’s eyes.
The jokes between Sulu and the ship about getting coffee, or getting them back before ski season opened on the planet.
I did like the way Shatner portrayed the confused state.
Sulu’s portrayal of freezing to death.
Evil and Good Kirk talking – at least till Evil Kirk lied, but I guess that is what an Evil Kirk would do.
Things I thought were interesting and why:
That the evil Kirk beamed up facing the rear of the transporter; I know they wanted the expressions to be a surprise, but I just thought it funny that the beam him up in a different position.
Things I thought were funny:
The dog in the costume, though they didn’t have many avenues for special effects back then.
Jim had concealer readily available in his quarters and didn’t have to go to a female crewmember’s quarters to fix the scratch on his face.
The uniforms change from the standard gold with Starfleet logo on the chest to the gold braid wrap even between the Good and Evil Kirk, to where they are both wearing the gold braid wrap. Perhaps an error in wardrobe?
Things I observed:
The inoperable transporter must have given birth to the need for shuttlecraft.
Was PETA developed from Star Trek? They did test their transport on an animal first, and it died.
Things I didn't like and why:
I know it’s become iconic of William Shatner, but the over dramatics, such as the fainting, can get annoying.
